I feel like "The Fluted Girl" by Paolo Bacigalupi deserves a mention. It's not pure horror, but it's a type of future sci-fi body modification situation that's truly horrific.

Pretty sure I read a Bradbury one in that collection which altered my consciousness forever, I was so scared.

Dearly wish I could remember the title or even the book. I read voraciously as a kid, and school library/teacher bookshelves were my domain. Not much horror - had to find it as an adult

As a 5th grader I picked up a book off my teacher's shelf of sci-fi short stories.

Some of those were definitely in the sci-fi horror side of things, even though it was obviously a book for kids. (This was the 80s; I guess we didn't care about kids mental health as much then. 🤣)

This probably breaches the word count, but George RR Martin's "The Sandkings" is a ✨masterpiece of writing and horror. The man can write, when he wants to.

I also love seeing the clips online of newer group games like Phantasmagoria (or whatever it's called), Lethal Company, and the like, where jump scares in a group and dying to hilarious misadventures is part of the thrill.

Shoutout also to the games which include a bit of horror as spice, like Halo

The arts are lifesaving for many kids who don't see a role for them at school in other ways. Art, music, theater - they are all critical for human development. Every child deserves access to the arts as part of their education, not just rich kids whose parents can afford lessons or clubs.

The arts are empowering, that is why they try to remove them.

And let’s not forget that the DOGE purges earlier this year decimated several offices that provide cyber security support or manage anti-hacking regulations.

Yay for Trump and Elon making everything worse!
