But a burner account posting a photo of him at an arcade is just not remotely strong enough evidence for such a severe accusation.

I mean to be fair a lot of genuine victims will wait for this sort of thing to come out because its intimidating to go up against a loved public figure by yourself. Unfortunately it really is the best time both for genuine callouts and bogus smears.

Yeah, I wouldn't throw around such heavy accusations without a grain of salt when anyone can pull some pics online and spin a narrative about them. And if the situation did turn into people fabricating grooming allegations I couldn't blame him for losing his cool and ragequitting.

Yeah I saw that :(.
I personally just wanted to see if Usagi still stood by those comments today (and he says not, which is enough for me to give him a chance at least)
But the way half the community rushed to dismiss the issue or straight up perpetuate it has been really disheartening

I know that won't satisfy a lot of people but all I wanted to hear is that he doesn't stand by it today. That's enough for me to at least be cautiously optimistic.

I'm willing to give him the chance if he says he doesn't stand by this stuff. Plenty of people have really shitty edgelord pasts and then change and grow as people. He has trans people on his dev team who's vouched for him growing as a person as he met trans people and learned their perspective.

To be a little fair to him, the vast majority of the posts he's not really the one saying the worst stuff.
He apologized and distanced himself from it. These days online so many people just double down or defend their shitty actions. Even if he's just "pretending", I think it's a far sight better.

They were clearer in past videos that these were explicitly the concept and not showing a ready app. That's why they estimated a Q4 2026 release, with partial features. People following the project already knew this but I think they forgot to clarify this for how much new attention it was getting.

tbf that was the intent of the video, and they genuinely have devs on board that have made other works. I think it's pretty likely we won't get everything that lives up to their vision, but we'll probably still get something nice.

I definitely don't get the idea they were trying to mislead people into believing this was live footage of the software, it wouldn't really make sense to considering their past content. But it absolutely should have been clearer.

they were pretty open about the fact that the software is not ready and that these were mockups but I think they weren't as clear in the full presentation as they were in past videos which is unfortunate since its gotten the most attention.

Yeah, just growing up I always had the sense that we got better as time went on and on average, in the modern world anyway, people were generally good and tried to do the right thing. I always thought the stupid and/or malicious people were more uncommon. 😔
