Democracy requires accountability, but there's no accountability if an election in which all parties run poor candidates results in a poor candidate getting elected (and the rest retaining key roles in the opposition).

Finance lowered the barriers of not being born with capital.

The Internet lowered the barriers from being born in the wrong place.
