It's here!!! THE BEST OF ALL-STORY LOVE: 1929, a first-of-its-kind anthology of #pulp #romance stories from that magazine's first year. It took long enough, but I'm ever so happy I can bring at least a fraction of this forgotten part of romance history to light. 💕 #romancelandia #booksky📚💙

There's a reason that I say that European pulps were better than American pulps. The American pulps gave you boring characters like the Moon Man and the Whirlwind and the Man in Purple. The European pulps gave you The Mysterious Doctor Funk. Q.E.D.

Already over 4K words for this review, and I still have a decent amount to go. Coming together really nicely, though! Hopefully I can finish it this week? 🤞 #TheSecretWhiteOfItAll

“Have Yourself A Merriam Little Christmas”

Merriam, a career-oriented lexicographer from the city, returns to her small town for the holidays and meets Webster, a ruggedly handsome librarian, who shows her the true DEFINITION of Christmas.

I hope someone draws this wonderful story about Tom Stoppard's Arcadia and the power of the arts to help us see things differently, to the attention of our Education Secretary. Do read it, it will lift your spirits.

I was not able to contribute an F+ review, like I wanted to, but at least I was able to contribute an F review? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (An honor, all the same!)

Am considering that my lingering malaise/fogginess might actually be caffeine withdrawal, due to my increased coffee consumption over the course of three days, and my history of severe dependency (meaning it's REALLY easy for my body to slip back into that high-consumption state), pfffft.

I'm honored to have been featured by @smartbitches.bsky.social as a guest reviewer today! Remember that terrible, offensive (and offensively BORING) 1974 Glenna Finley Gothic abt plantation houses and voodoo? I didn't want to, either! Alas, "misery shared" and all that. 😂 #romance #romancelandia

Still too tired to write just yet (though getting better!), so here's a picture of Ellen Hogue (AKA: Eleanor Kerkhoff, née Stinchcomb), taken sometime in the 1930s. According to her granddaughter, who shared the photo online, it was taken by a friend who was testing lighting.

I hate how fucking exhausted I am after the holidays. Like, I'm trying to write a little, and my ability to concentrate and form words is just GONE. (Which I rather expected, because it's always this way, but still, it's disappointing.)

Idk, maybe I should just content myself with reading today.
