Same thing happened to the Dodgers after they went to the White House. They turned it around at the bitter end but basically burned all their bridges along the way.

Broke into the UMich Big House when it was under renovation. Middle of the night with a dozen friends. Was staring into the starry sky and saw a string of four “stars” moving together and making sharp turns and accelerating/decelerating. Then they disappeared.

It does sting. I’m happy for Vancouver - they earned it and have seen their playoff hopes die at our doorstep repeatedly. But I’m sad for our guys who were just inches from a miraculous comeback.
