Charles Chaplin’s THE FREAK: the unmade, almost produced final film by the master! screenplay finally published in full, w/ storyboards, production notes & archive material. A haunting tale of wings, innocence & corruption.

Using screengrabs not only allows you to select exact images but also provides a good defence for publication (under fair dealing or fair use), as opposed to published stills, which are stand-alone creative works i.e. you are quoting from a work rather than reproducing a work in full

One of the features I like in my new book Let Me Dream Again is use of DVD screengrabs to get telling images e.g. L'enfant sauvage, Great Expectations (Pip coming out of the mist), Masked and Anonymous, Dickensian stickingplacebooks.com/let-me-dream...

This is both an incredibly niche thing but I think it should be more of a thing. Caffè Nero subscribes to the British Newspaper Archive so it’s all free on their wifi. There. I said it.

Great news for many, but there's nothing wrong in paying for the BNA if you can. It's what enables more British Library newspapers to be preserved through digitisation, benefitting everyone
