I think a white gravy would probably work best... pork, chicken, sausage... something like that.

@scootermonkey.bsky.social For those of you who no longer FB, Josh passed in his sleep on Sunday. I just found out tonight. If you're inclined to read it, the announcement is here:

I think a series would be better. You'd have to sacrifice a lot of complexity to cram it all into a single film.

Sooo ao3 was down when Mari asked if she could show this to people. It's back up now, though. If you'd prefer to read it there, here's the link.

A social worker has been involved in the process to try and get her access to all the resources she'll need including transportation--which has been the reason she ran out of meds in the first place 'cause we couldn't get her to see a doctor for a follow-up and refills weren't possible without it.

run out of the medicine for her AFIB. She still hasn't gotten a patient advocate yet, so I've asked her to concentrate on that as she's not able to advocate well for herself due to her anxiety disorder.

UPDATE:

They're talking about sending her home again, either today or tomorrow. They DO think it's a vitreous hemorrhage and she'll need to see a retinal specialist. Probably there will be laser cautery involved. They're given her a bunch of meds and made it clear that she needs to NOT

She's officially admitted now. They checked her blood sugar at one point and it was 120... which I think they dismissed 'cause that's so close to normal... but I don't think they took into account that she hadn't eaten in over 24 hours. They've finally fed her since.

I pushed back. She's being admitted and I told her to ask for a patient advocate. Her anxiety disorder makes it too hard for her to stick up for herself when people get pushy and I can't be there to help.

More as I hear it.

Nothing for her diabetes, lymphedema, they didn't find evidence of pleural effusion this time but the afib is still an issue which they did not treat and they said she looks to be chronically anemic... which they also did not treat.

And they were going to send her home.

I got a call from Mari this morning to let me know the hospital was getting ready to send her home. They wanted her to see an eye specialist next week and they were gonna set her up with an appointment and transportation.

That sounds like an excellent indication that something might be worthy of my time.

Yeah, we are. We're not even half way to our goal yet.

Mix it with the right mustard and dip your chicken fingers in it?
