the (hopefully permanent) solution this time was to reach out to a guy who goes by laserparts and have the gear recreated. i actually broke the first replacement gear (started it up in the wrong position), but got this second one in without issue. optimistic it should be all set. watching a star war

i like that you can pick up plants in this one. from what i recall, you never need to do so, and the only benefit is the joy of the action.
