Green turkey chili on deck. Gonna leave it cooking over night so I can take it to work.

It's actually spicy lol. Basically cooking it inside my salsa verde and added some northern and white beans.

Gonna serve it with cilantro, scallions, red onions, avocado, and a drizzle of sour cream.

Walmart had an Italian herb foot long french bread on special for a dollar.

Challenge accepted.

I'll give you purpose my glutenous friend.

Check out this monster meatball sub.

Hmm. I've managed to grow my group to about 60 members already, but people are still too scared to ask for help.

If you needed to ask for food help, what would make you feel comfortable?

I feel like maybe I need to create a neutral drop off.

I did a thing. I started an idea on FB that hopefully connects people with food sources around these times. I'm only in a little town, and I've already got up to 36 members.

Posting this in case it creates seeds of inspiration in other cities.

Let's help our communities, y'all.

What I've had at the Texas Monthly BBQ fest so far.

Smoked buffalo wing sample, and a smoked pork belly and esquites taco topped with cilantro and pickled onion.

I made two batches of lemon poppy seed muffins for my daughter's school, only to find out the due date was next Friday. Not today.

Now I have 24 muffins.

This is how I feel trying to decide if I should bring them to work today or not.

Forgot to take a picture before I cut it lol.

I like to use the roasted garlic panko instead for the breading.

My caldo de res reflects my Mexican American influence lol.

It's closer to an American beef stew, but it's got that caldo twang with the lime and cilantro.

The broth body is thicker than a normal caldo as well.

Real cute, until you realize you've invited the immovable object to protect your coffee from being stirred.

Jerk.

I know y'all are probably tired of looking at tacos, but have y'all tried those "mixtas" tortillas? The half corn/half flour???

I've been sleeping on them forever. They're amazing!

They fry like corn tortillas, but they remain pliable like flour.

Crunchy edges, but soft middle.

Things I send my wife.

Idk how I make it through the day sometimes tbh. I'm so spaced out.

I've been practicing my homemade corn tortillas.

I can get them to a soft flexible state when cooked, which is awesome since store bought are brittle and annoying.

My problem is with frying them. I have the opposite problem. Mine then become brittle and fall apart.

Advice?

Thought I was clever making salsa verde chicken ramen, but after mixing it, it just tasted like Hot and Sour soup. So really, I just made hot and sour ramen lol.

When you were growing up, what was your idea of gourmet?

Mine was properly melted refried beans and cheese.

Tacos, nachos, or even by itself. It was hands down the most comforting, satisfying, delicious thing my little taste buds could have.

I'm curious what y'all's are.
