Friday is always quieter (though still busy in recent times) so you can experiment if you need and adjust for Saturday when it will be crazy busy! A lot of locals are quite shy so signs to clearly explain anything unusual (or just to say that you're new to MCM) can help encourage people to engage.

Looking at my pictures from May MCM I see postcards £3-£5, prints £8-£30, stickers £1-£5 (sheets can be up to £8 or so), enamel pins £10-£15, acrylic charms £8-£12, fabric items like tote bags/socks £10-£30, zines £8-£15. Some offer bundle deals too for prints/charms. An awesome tapestry was £185.

Just make sure that all of your expenses are covered! We don't get many chances to buy fandom goods so there's no need to sell too low. The excitement of the event means that people would rather get the perfect item and know that the artist isn't making a loss.

It depends on the size/quality/fandom but I usually spend £10-£20 per booth and I usually get a couple of items from each artist I buy from. MCM is so loud and busy that I stop paying attention to how much things cost very quickly; if a new treasure seems reasonable I don't quibble over price!

I asked my GP for a letter about something and at the top it says this. I have never asked them to change my gender flag but apparently changing your name confuses the heck out of people for years.

Today is going well so far - slashed my hand and the opposite forearm by accident this morning, then had a blood test but they had to do it through my (uninjured) hand. Plasters everywhere. Ahaha. Back to work...

New figure deliveries from the last week! I won't be buying any more large figures for a while. Still waiting on two Nendoroids I've had on preorder since forever (Bladie and Sunday) which still haven't arrived. I hope they'll still fit on the shelf...

A mediocre photograph showing the newly released figure of the jiang-shi character Lei-Lei (Hsien-Ko) from the Vampire (Darkstalkers) game series. It's a bishoujo figure based on Yamashita Shunya's artwork so she's looking very cute. The box was enormous and her figure has a lot of weight to it thanks to the sleeves! Strangely, her hat is removable but I don't recommend it since her hair isn't designed for display underneath it.

A very unflattering picture of the Nendoroid version of Okazaki Kei (from the game Collar x Malice). He is holding a gun and has his jacket lazily slung over one shoulder, the way he wears it in the original game. The figure is surrounded by lots of clutter from the user's shelves (they will be very impressed if anyone can name all of the other figures partially in shot).

Flins came home in sixty pulls which was nice. Shame that I do better at getting characters in games I'm not actively playing!

Just making our way back from the cinema after watching Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback! I won't hold my breath for it ever making it to home video here so it was good to get a chance to see it. Lots of explosions.

The problem is that current Labour is nearly indistinguishable from the Tory party and many of their headlines would be easily passed off as Conservative headlines from the last decade if the names of the people involved were changed. Tremendously disappointing times.

I'll start looking properly once I am actually unemployed (leaving a job where you're quite important is a bit messier than leaving a normal job, annoyingly) but it feels like a missed opportunity not to apply for interesting roles whenever I see them. A pay cut is guaranteed, sadly for me! 🫠

Applied for my first new job in a billion years. I don't realistically expect to get it, I just needed to get back in the rhythm. Still need to finish extracting myself from the old one and get my health fixed!

(Cue months of misery as I repeat this process a thousand more times.)

Just counted and I'm currently taking nineteen doses of medicine a day following the surgery. I'll try to reduce some of that quickly.

Can hardly keep my eyes open so I'll play some games before bed 😜
