Because leaders take their eyes off the ball. Most awful when in situations such as whole school assembly when leads, after signalling for silence, allow low level background noise to continue when resuming speaking…….why should anyone else bother when it’s not modelled at the top.

Tarjinder is right; primary schools don’t tend to PEX a child if they bring a knife in. We work with the child, family and relevant authorities to try to understand the reason why.
However, I wouldn’t want my child going to a secondary school that DIDN’T have a zero-tolerance policy on this.

I have just vented. I cannot find anything positive to say. I find the term Report Card insulting. The toolkit will drive up workload. It’s an APP grid lookalike.
Exemplary is the new Outstanding.
The word ‘leader’ is in toolkit 200 times. ‘Teacher’ is there 20 times.
Meaningless word salad.

It’s just so awful and depressing how quickly it’s been rolled out and that it isn’t really for schools and certainly won’t drive real improvement. It’s for parents. They call it a report card ffs
It’s insulting.

Most telling feature from Louise McL on the toolkits apart from the absolute, car crash , APP style madness and incoherence? Word ‘leaders’ mentioned 200 times. The word ‘teachers’? 20 As a non SLT teacher, its inevitable stress will be off loaded onto teachers to ensure leadership is okay.

It came as a shock to those without £ security, but was quickly accepted. It slowly escalated and now, it’s almost taken for granted that if you don’t have at least a silver plated spoon, you may have to pay for uni ed the rest of your life…….they stop asking for their money back when you are 65.

I remember convos in 90s; well off graduate friends saying “It’s such low interest and you only pay back when you earn enough.”
Meanwhile, trust funds got it all covered😂 It was always going to go in this direction ⬇️ All this talk about the ‘gap’ closing in sch….then the door firmly closes.

Working in a Catholic school- RE is 10% of teaching time ( assemblies not included!) What would happen in faith schools?
