Ask me about the origins of the Tesco Clubcard, I dare you. (he/him)
They did a Ring Cycle episode?

Good lord, I can see that buck's back muscles from the front!

When my sister was taping songs off the radio on her all-in-one 90's machine, we still had to be quiet, because she thought we might get picked up on it, somehow.

You're not getting me that easy, the words of this so-called Witness are probably laden with lyrical parasites that will convert my very being into one of the ditties in his horrid library.

Yes, I spend a lot of time deep in the Heart, why do you ask?

I've got no idea why they haven't been pushing Atmos more for music. Over a decade ago, I was played an Atmos mix of a Devin Townsend track that I don't think ever got released, and I still think about it.

I guess there's a correlation between the dogs that are in shelters and the dogs that are unsuitable for most people.

We had a powercut a few weeks ago, and when the power came back on, the streetlights entered some weird boot sequence, where it became obvious that they have their brightness digitally turned way down from their maximum, presumably to meet the regulated lux at street level without being too bright.

In my hometown, they turn the streetlights in all but the town centre off after midnight (which is obviously partly to save money, too).

One of these days, I'm going to run out of things to be surprised are still happening in the States, but I guess it's not today. The UK is far from perfect, but we've had downward facing street lights since forever, and pretty much every new development has to do a light pollution assessment.

That's a really profound read that will really stick with me, and not just the pre-covid bits. If anything, I think the covid bits are some of those that I found most relateable. Thank you for being so honest and putting out a glimpse of something I don't think I've seen discussed at all.

Oh, buddy. That all sucks so much. I've got nothing constructive to add other that I'm happy you've got a rehab plan.

What do you mean "How could it invent anything new when it can only pull from existing training data"?

What do you mean "How would it spend money"?

What do you mean "Why would we not just turn off the robots"?

It's AI. It can do anything.
November 2, 2025 at 11:04 AM
Look, you've just got to accept that sooner or later, AI is going to be able to code it's own new type of AI, which is different and better than any other type, collect new and different training data that no one else could find, fund and build a data centre, build robot bodies and kill us all.

"We don't know if these things will suddenly come alive one day... or *gasp* maybe they already have..." you say about the Make-A-Celebrity-Fall-Down-The-Stairs Machine.

I watched that video, and I was surprised to hear the things Hank let go unchallenged. The whole book seems to be a regurgitation of the "LLMs are so powerful and scawy, I sure hope noone oppresses me uwu" stuff that I thought we left in 2023.

You can't sell that shit in a post Sora 2 world.

Ray Parker Jr. knows about Freaky Ghosts at the very least.

It doesn't seem right to me that you wouldn't be a Star Trek person.

Americans can't handle a six and a half hour bat-and-ball game? You guys should try test match cricket some time.

You're assuming that the purpose of a film is to be enjoyed, or even watched. He just needs to convince Mohammed Bin Salman that he's still a real actor, and he was worth the money he paid to buy him as a pet and destroy Amber Heard.

I noticed the front door and garage immediately, but I'm still not sure I really understand what's happening.
October 16, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Oh, I've been naughty? Well, then, tell me what you're going to do to me, and make sure to format it as a list with emojis instead of bullet points.

I think Wildsea could be fun with kids. It really goes out of its way to reward whimsy.
October 14, 2025 at 3:21 PM
Boooo. I dislike that this is happening to you.
