I’ve been seeing more deer on the Raleigh greenway trail system. There were four nearby when I took this photo today, but this one was quite close to me as I rode by on my bicycle.

Rode from my house to the @ncartmuseum.bsky.social just in time for them to close, then turned around and rode home with just a little drizzle to cool me down. 18.5 miles. About 18 miles of which were on the Raleigh greenway system.

I haven’t flown since early this year. The airport has become especially dark. When I showed up for TSA, there were two plain clothes agents (one armed) detaining a Latino man at the entrance to the line. A line of TV’s above us with Kristi Noem talking about something we thankfully couldn’t hear.

28 miles around Raleigh on the Rad Power e-bikes today, culminating with some yummy Lebanese food at Sassool for dinner.
Visited the local Trek bike shop for the first time. Very friendly staff. We might have to return for some farkles.

I’m riding somewhere between 8 to 25 miles a day now. Out shopping with my wife right now on our e-bikes 8 miles from home. We are not hardcore bicyclists. Just a middle aged mom & dad that made an investment a few weeks ago in driving less.

The parts of the Raleigh greenway system that are good are really good!
I’m noticing almost none of the shops we like to ride bicycles to have anything like bicycle racks. Even the sign posts here aren’t going up very high. So one has to stay with the bikes while the other goes inside.

I really wish Canoo hadn't been plagued by bad management decisions. Their pickup truck design was pretty close to ideal for me. And sat somewhere between a traditional pickup truck and a cabover in design.
