What a shame—a missed opportunity for great television! This is Nepos Street in Split (Diocletian’s Palace), where Julius Nepos, the last Western Roman emperor, was apparently murdered.

I find that the general public often imagines Romans only in 1st-c. BCE/CE military gear. So when a documentary puts someone in a late 4th-c. CE uniform and still calls them “Roman,” it’s confusing. Anyway… if Julius Nepos isn’t in it, I’m not watching.
