I will admit, when I said "assuming that Uruguay's healthcare is cheaper than the US", I added "(probable)" before wondering if it was too snarky

Like the UK has had royal births cheaper than a bogstandard US birth, it's genuinely horrific and makes me wanna Cadaver Synod Ronald Reagan

My dog is a big fan of Metaphor Refantazio. I think it's because the fighting animation is very bright and flashy

She also pays slightly more attention during TOS than other Star Treks, and I think it's because of the lush, high contrast colours used to advertise colour TV

Assuming Uruguay has less expensive healthcare than the US, I'd say if you have pain with unknown cause for more than a couple of days, go to the doctor

I'm watching Star Trek TOS and I must confess, Scotty's obsession with good Scotch has tipped into 'concerning'

I know it was written in the 1960s...

Thing about Britain is that once we start doing something, we're very reluctant to stop

(See: kidnapping an MP during the opening of Parliament to prevent people from trying to assassinate the monarch. This used to be a legitimate problem)

It's also very funny to me that despite Red Dwarf being both BBC scifi and comedy, and thus having a budget more suited to a Tesco Meal Deal, its android makeup has aged considerably better than TNG

Alt: A gif of Kryten from Red Dwarf. He is an android with a black, mechanical looking body and a polygonal head made of rubbery material in a vaguely white person skin tone colour

He looks like he's been crying all the time because of the contrast between the makeup and his natural tear duct colour

It's not as funny as the HD Red Dwarf, which makes it very obvious that the "floating head" computer effect was done using a high neck jumper and matching background

I strongly suspect that the actual answer is like, "this was built back in the 1980s when digital watches you only needed one arm to use was a pretty neat idea. What's a blu-ray?"

I always assumed the bussard collectors and deflector dish also operated like the port/starboard signal lights on a ship, but I will admit this explanation does avoid the "turbolift smells like bleach covering puke" problem

One of my childhood dog's friend's humans may have accidentally done this. He hid the pill in some cheese, and had some other, decoy cheese cubes. The plan was to give the dog cheese and sneak the pill in with the other cubes.

Then he started snacking on the cheese.

It probably exists because some languages do work like that, such as Japanese

They don't use 3rd person pronouns often because it's assumed that you're talking about the last subject you referred to (or sometimes object, depending on context)

Elsie no, that's why your poops chase you

(My husband and I have long hair, and apparently our dog sometimes ingests it and has a traumatic experience)
