“It sounded as if he was suggesting that songs about gassing Jews, Asians and Black people amount to no more than “banter”. That’s not schoolboy Farage talking, but the Farage of 2025.”

Yes. Same racism. Now weaponised by the wealth and power of the far right.

Antisemitism allegations against the teenage Farage matter – look at what he went on to do | Jonathan Freedland
Farage has cosied up to US figures who espoused conspiracy theories about Jews. That kind of talk is becoming alarmingly mainstream on the Maga right, says Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland

As Jesus also said “and lo if a person is starving, cold, sick and homeless, that shalt not help them. Thou shalt gloat from inside a big warm house, eating a big juicy steak, smug with BUPA membership”
Here endeth The Tory Lesson
As Jesus once put it: "what shall it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and then have to pay the mansion tax?"

I see Farage now hates emigration as well as immigration. The trouble is, he’s a big part of why people are emigrating. Brexit has made the U.K. a less attractive place for everyone.

Disgusted at the BBC for censoring the Reith lecture by Rutger Bregman. The BBC is Trump’s lapdog and should not be receiving public money.

It’s not difficult to see the cause of this, but it’s really, really bad - the entire point of the Reith Lectures is that they’re a showcase for expertise, so taking a legal, well supported, reasonable assertion and removing it for political convenience is really not acceptable.
I wish I didn’t have to share this. But the BBC has decided to censor my first Reith Lecture.

They deleted the line in which I describe Donald Trump as “the most openly corrupt president in American history.” /1

Millions more people worldwide now know how a reputable historian views Trump than would have listened to the original lecture. Many more people have heard of the Reith Lectures than listen to them. Many more people will listen to them in the future.

A tale of two edits. The Panorama one saw the resignation of three senior figures while the removal of a sentence criticising Trump from @rcbregman’s Reith lecture has been filed under “culture” and caused minimal fuss www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

My husband @captmarkkelly.bsky.social is a 25-year Navy combat pilot veteran. He served our country with strength, courage, and integrity.

The President called him a traitor and demanded he be executed. It is dangerous and wrong. Americans need to stand up and say so.
I've had a missile blow up next to my airplane, been shot at dozens of times by anti-aircraft fire, and launched into orbit — all for my country. I never thought I'd see a President call for my execution.

Trump doesn’t understand the Constitution, and we're all less safe for it.

What made Britain great were the men and women from other countries who came to rebuild Britain after the WW2. Who fought alongside to protect this country. Who did the jobs Brits didn't want to do. These people made Britain great.
