Right wing media/far right politicians don't help but racism has always been there. People now feel able to be openly racist in the mistaken belief that everyone will agree with them. It has now become socially acceptable whereas a few years ago people would be more circumspect. I'm beyond disgusted

Kneejerk racism is everywhere. It's depressing.

Farage is an abhorrent racist. Now his supporters are emboldened by his normalisation of racist language. Previously, these people would not have publicly expressed their racism unless drunk. Now, they feel empowered. I hate what this country has become.

Surely everything about Trump's WH is highly unusual. Not all authoritarian fascists wear uniforms.

Why don't all journalists walk out when he speaks to their contemporaries like that? At the very least the women should get up and leave and show some solidarity. He's an absolute disgrace.

Believe it or not it happened because your description of Trump’s lack of attributes applies to many Americans.

Millions more people worldwide now know how a reputable historian views Trump than would have listened to the original lecture. Many more people have heard of the Reith Lectures than listen to them. Many more people will listen to them in the future.

Everyone knows he's a disgusting racist and all allegations about him are true. Problem is that his supporters don't care. Indeed it emboldens them to express their views publicly.

A question I keep asking is whether Labour seriously believe that the number of Reform votes they’ll gain will outnumber the number of core supporters they’ll lose. I think it unlikely that Reform voters will vote Labour but highly likely that Labour will haemorrhage core support.
