American exceptionalism aside, it's good in that it actually tried to show the impact of the war (and Reich) on the German population. Child soldiers, rape, looting, SS reprisals. Lots of stuff that isn't usually covered in war movies that shows the horrors of what happens. Plus they kill lots of SS
