Several new followers recently, so here's a "HELLO" post. I teach gifted kids. I'm a big Chiefs fan. I have many nerdy interests, including Transformers, Godzilla, and comic books. I've also written four books! Two are sci-fi adventures, and two are about lil' nerdy Marc. More at marcallie.com!

That's a fair point. Less play value for sure.

I feel like Dr. Manhattan on Mars when it comes to Transformers collecting the last 5 or so years.

Compared to Marvel Legends and deluxe class Transformers, $20 seems like a deal.

Well I was supposed to meet Lee Majors this weekend at a local con. Unfortunately he's unable to attend. I was going to have him sign my Bionic Crisis board game! Very bummed. Hoping he's all right.

Opening this toy seems appropriate for the season.

Having a hard time with social media lately, and maybe you are too. So here are some 40+ year old doodles I put in my Illustrated Classics version of War of the Worlds.

It's a shame, because the Conan stories themselves show so much variety. The stereotype from the movies, etc. is a narrow slice of what's out there.

As a casual pulp fan I thought they would be more similar, that's all. It's not a complaint in any way just something I felt was interesting. Later adaptations led me to believe they were almost interchangeable.

After reading all Howard's Conan stories a few years back, I'm reading all his Kull stories. I was expecting the tales to be very similar, but so far they are quite different. Any ideas as to why this is?

Got into the season by stopping at Wendy's AND Burger King for the capitalist scary good options. Fine dining while watching Nightmare on Elm Street 5!

Read The Monsters are Due on Maple Street this week with my students. Today we watched the Twilight Zone episode. They chatted a bit during the first act but by the second you could have heard a pin drop. Great stuff, even all these years later!

It started out kinda slow but hooked you in pretty quick. I liked the comparison to Phantom of the Opera with the music, but the accidents that lead up to the phantom was what kept me watching. You couldn't wait for what was going to happen next. I really liked how he kept on coming back for more.

A brilliant film start to finish. My wife usually doesn't watch the Crestwood movies with me but this one was intriguing enough to both of us that we watched it together. I adored it start to finish. Deana's review in the next comment. @paxholley.com @michaelmay.bsky.social @shawnrobare.com
