The sixth – and final – season of “McMillan,” starring Rock Hudson, began on NBC’s “Mystery Movie” franchise in 1976. Originally titled “McMillan and Wife,” the “Wife” was dropped after Susan St. James as Sally could not come to terms with a new contract. Also exiting the series was Nancy Walker.

Yabba dabba doo! "The Flintstones" reached its 100th episode on ABC in 1963. The landmark animated sitcom ultimately ran for six seasons, producing 166 episodes in total, and became one of television’s most iconic prehistoric comedies.

The first Burger King fast-food restaurant opened in Miami in 1954, and three years later the chain introduced its now-iconic hamburger, the Whopper. Personally, I spent a summer in high school working at a Burger King in Jamaica, Queens, where I earned a whopping — pun intended — $2.10 an hour.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" hosted by Ty Pennington debuted on ABC in 2003. It soon became a staple on Sunday nights and was an immediate top-20 hit. It initially ran for eight seasons. In 2020, HGTV revived the series with "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson as host.

In an episode of the ABC anthology drama "Bus Stop" in 1961 titled "A Lion Walks Among Us," pop singer Fabian portrayed a young vagrant accused of murder. Twenty-five ABC affiliates refused to air the telecast due to what was then deemed as an "obscene" depiction of violence.

"Spencer," the teen sitcom starring Chad Lowe, debuted on NBC in 1984. Lowe left the series after six episodes and the show was retooled and re-titled "Under One Roof" with Ross Harris in the spring of 1985. It aired with Harris for only seven more episodes.
