Saw this book in the local library and thought “that looks awesome” and…. oh my days! How had I not heard of this before??? The original sci-fi/future fiction dystopia book. Written in Russia 1921 + translated into English 1924. A massive influence on Brave New World(1932) + 1984(1949). Mindblown!

couldn’t get the motivation of characters cos of my age but that’s what hooked me.I recognised character types of Guinness,Segal,Sydow+wanted to know more.Max Von Sydow has remained my fav actor.

The Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour film Somewhere In Time had the same effect on my fascination with the uncanniness of the past and I genuinely had many dreams in the following years of travelling back into the past…
