Over on Engadget, people reading the XTRIS article are upset that the author is publishing too many reviews of Playdate games.

Anyways XTRIS will be on sale starting October 30 for 25% off!
Two comments on an Engadget article. Jeremy says: "We get it, you have a playdate. Every article you write is about this super niche console that no one cares about." Ben says: "I get that you're into playdate, and I appreciate the coverage of something more obscure... but there have been a lot of articles on it. It seems highly disproportionate, unless you have some kind of financial or personal incentive to write for them? If you're looking to support indie artists, perhaps you could cover indie games on other platforms more."

i think a lot of bluesky thinks the simple solution to discomfort is bullying

which is so weird given we were all surely bullied??
then: you don't need to "understand how the human mind works" on any level in order to make a computerized map of the connectome including every protein and cell. this is similar to how we do not currently understand how LLMs work but we can run them using opaque frozen weights. bluesky: We do know how LLMs work. The issue is that this is not at all easy to fix — this is how the LLM tech works. They can add tons of safeguards but they cannot change the nature of the probabilistic text generation. The bias will leak out in new ways.
A reply to the quoted post, saying "Wow. Such a fail, and so easy to fix (change 'boyfriend' to 'partner' or 'significant other' or almost anything else...). But, of course, the real issue is the development team not even bothering to think about this for a nanosecond or two."
