You still don't get it. How would you go about protecting the rights of trans people *now*, given that the Equality Act as interpreted by the SC clearly allows discrimination against them?

Yes, but what's different about the current crisis is that moderate activists who supported Starmer pre-GE are bailing. Many of them were stalwarts of the leaflet & doorstep. Maybe the leadership are cynically hoping they'll return to the fold before the next GE to keep Ref out. Good luck with that.

It's a huge pain for parents trying to pass on modest wealth to look after disabled children for the rest of their lives, especially when state social care is so precarious.

Good to see the BL's problems finally getting attention. But research libraries are also crucial components of our national STEM infrastructure, managing access to digital content, open access repositories, and research data. Libraries are a lot more than the laboratories of the arts & humanities.
