I stumbled on a Telegraph hatchet job of Reeves’ budget. Keen to show the effects of inflation on earnings, the writers do not apply the same thoroughness when making other calculations. Note the outrage of the text vs. the Bank of England inflation calculator value for £2300 today compared to 2005.

🚨BREAKING🚨New figures reveal the true cost of Brexit.

It's time for Labour to stop being so timid and fix the damage done by the Conservatives' botched Brexit deal.

That is the best way to boost growth, put money in people's pockets and properly fund our public services.

My alma mater, Leicester University, is dissolving its Geology Department leading to the loss of 14 staff. Palaeo is being completely axed, despite Leicester's long and storied history in this area (and its current strengths). Please sign this petition!!: www.change.org/p/save-geolo...

Aberystwyth did the same with my old geology department. It is too easy for departments to power grab and in doing so, lose focus on earth history.
Earth has its own history which is not written in books until someone takes a map, notebooks, lens and hammer out and finds it.

More MEPs investigated in Russian bribe probe’

There have been no other arrests or interviews under caution, but the Met’s counter terrorism commander Dominic Murphy said at a briefing last Thursday his team were investigating several former British MEPs.

#Trump is the total, sincere and openly honest epitome of badness and human wickedness.
That’s his appeal. He doesn’t pretend. Others are accused of hypocrisy because they attempt to hide their faults. Trump doesn’t. He is openly corrupt and revels when people pander to him.

“Asylum seekers’ jewellery could be seized to pay for processing costs, says Home Office minister“

Sorry Shabana Mahmood, the idea of taking jewellery off people did not start with the Danes. The Germans did it previously on a vast scale.

I don’t like Labour’s latest policy on refugees. Once again they are pandering to the worse side of the British character. Many politicians need to understand that their role is not just to get elected but to be leaders too, guiding people to be better versions of themselves.

Honestly I don’t think the BBC should mind Trump.
Why? His lawyers will have to prove in court that he suffered material damage to the sum claimed in open court. “Oh I’m such a loser that I continued to maintain political control and went on to win the next election. Boo hoo! Pay me $5billion.”

Under his new pay deal, Musk is due to take home $238,000,000 a day for ten years.
He is the kind of dude who read Hitchhiker’s Guide to Galaxy and really admired the business plan of the Magratheans. They were the custom planet builders who avarice lead to a galaxy-wide economic depression.

Labour is now looking towards the Danes for leadership on how to deal with immigrants and refugees.
Starmer has taken Labour and drained the hope, progressiveness and the compassion out of the party.

One reads reports that Labour are going to charge EV drivers 3p a mile road tax from 2028.
I have just crunched some numbers. On my current commute, this would make the cost very similar to what I pay for diesel. Let’s hope Labour isn’t really going to pour a bucket of ice water over the EV market.

My abiding memory of Cheney is “Not yet Dick”: the cartoon of the White House wargaming the Iraq invasion, with Cheney sneaking a Halliburton truck just behind the tanks.
He was a man of power, violence, ruthless business and a supporter of mass torture.
I will not be adding to the eulogies.
