Mexican chile crisp, and I already want to do it all over again, but better.

I’ve somewhat readjusted to seeing lizards on the daily, but there are just SO MANY, and today I saw two little black lizards 🦎 I don’t remember seeing at all when I lived here before. Then there’s the angry avocado, Avi, who has been an unexpected pleasure. I’m reintegrating.
A warty toad has dug into some mulch to enjoy the cool and moist after a morning watering.

One kitty really, really likes to have her fur roughed. She’s the sweetest, quietest, least in-your-face of the three, but she’ll take a good, hard scratch well beyond the point the other two will get pissy.

Drove up to the crest today and it was brilliant.

Nothing like a local wildfire to make for an exciting evening! Got to put the drone to use, tho, and the radios.

Cardboard and waste wood is down. Next for this bed: garden soil! Hopefully will get that done tomorrow.

I reused some potting soil for my first round of basil this year. In addition to learning the soil was nitrogen deficient, there are also a couple of stowaways.

Proud of myself this weekend, I actually finished a project. Well…mostly. It needs more plants and some stepping stones, so not really finished, but the hard work is done.
An 8’x10’ garden bed where mushroom compost has been spread. There are plant pots that contain chives and hops. An 8’x10’ garden bed where garden soil has been spread over the compost and then watered in. An 8’x10’ garden bed where plants have been placed into the earth. There are chives, garlic chives, hops, rhubarb, and lady’s mantle. The sun is casting a shadow of a trellis onto half of the garden. An 8’x10’ garden bed where brown colored mulch has been spread in between the plants and all over the garden bed.
