Yes, but from a small locally-owned Hawaiian restaurant whose owners depend on it to live. It was also a last chance for family members who were born and raised in Hawaii to connect with childhood comfort foods before hitting the road for their respective homes on the mainland.

Exactly, as in "fore and aft," now used mostly on boats.

I've never heard of anyone not doing it, but it's "fore," (the opposite of "aft,") to indicate the direction of the ball.

Inexpensive, small, locally-owned Hawaiian restaurant whose owners deserve to survive.

It's a tiny local Hawaiian restaurant whose owners deserve to survive, it was not very expensive, and it has been a family custom for years, since a lot of my family are originally from Hawaii. And the food is more than worth the price!

It was a tiny local Hawaiian restaurant, in honor of my out-of-town guests. Nothing corporate about it.

If we followed Putin's logic, the US would have to return the state of Massachusetts to Great Britain because it was once part of the British Empire.

Putin is making historical claims based on the existence of the former Russian Empire, which is rather like Great Britain claiming the US East Coast on the basis of its earlier existence as part of the former British Empire.

Congratuations! I have used everything I learned there, both as a librarian and in several other jobs. (University of Washington Information School - then called the "School of Librarianship" - class of 1973.)

I always find it such a joy to be able to interpret!

Someone mentioned elsewhere that Mamdani's previous job gave him experience communication with people with dementia. In my dementia caregiver support group they constantly reiterated that the patient can't understand your world, so you have to enter into their world and communicate on that basis.

I keep hoping these people are joking.

I always feel very sorry for interpreters who find themselves assigned to him.
