"Not even in my wildest dreams did I imagine that one day I would paint a picture of hot Bowser for official material, announced by Miyamoto himself. 😭 I laughed so hard in disbelief while painting, you have no idea lol"

I get that. The death is the hardest part for me. I cry, every single time, when I have to dispatch an animal, insect, fish, or bird. I don’t think it should ever become “easy.” I think it’s important to feel the gravity of your actions and how it has permanently altered the existence of another.

For sure. It’s so strange because deer hunting is a big thing here, but people had, for lack of a better word, no honor. Killing was a game to them. It wasn’t until I got older that I met ethical and kind hunters. Not a bunch of yahoos with guns and rebel flags on their hats.

People would think they were being so hurtful talking about how good meat tasted and then would quail when I talked about the best way to dispatch a chicken. If you’re an asshole, I’ll make you sit with uncomfortable truths and graphic details. I don’t play with my food.

That was a deeply impactful experience. It taught me so much about food, animal welfare, and what we take for granted. I generally only eat wild game and fish, but I think everyone who has an opportunity to raise/hunt their meat should do it at least once.

At some level of horror, it is completely and wildly insufficient to look at it as an individual action. Every single institution ended up participating in it.

The US, which completely failed to do this with both Reconstruction and denazification, has never actually done this.
