Medical device R&D day job, STEM+Art education volunteer nights and weekends. Big emphasis on introducing discrete mathematics to K-12 with hands on mathematical art projects.
Like this - Moving to 2" unit cubes for pentomino project. I talk with Minneapolis North HS next week about a collaborative project in art, discrete mathematics and computer science. If all goes well we will publish with Journal of Humanistic Mathematics.

Still haven't got an eyepiece filter but I am figuring out how to take a cellphone pic without an eyepiece mount.

"two old dudes smoking weed" image is too hard to find so - this weird pic. Ad for gummies (I guess) that I didn't click on.

I did try to "vibe code" this with Gemini in Colab-complete incomprehensible mess. YouTube videos were much more helpful. Reading and running example code that used the fundamentals key also.

Lots more to consider, like just stop using Meta but why leave if I can stay and grind its gears.

This is a light guide fixture I made for testing pulse oximeters. Has a little bit of a flux capacitor vibe.

Perhaps a little off topic but this is my latest "how does YouTube not notice these stupid scam ads." This one isn't as demonstrably porny.

Oops! I always think I have this thought out before I post. Thanks.

I think this is it. F branches to T and X with single square moves. X and T both have two square moves to W. X moves are symmetrical though.

Seems like a reasonable math art abstraction to play with in air dry clay and acrylic paints.

also - I think the pentominoes I sketched in a spreadsheet are the "minimum moves of squares" pentominoes. If you start with "I" anyway.

Hey all my Blue Sky math and more pals. I would not have done this silly bit of pentomino python without your pleasant correspondence on mathematics, programming and being nice person.

I tweaked somebody's(link in replies) pentomino solver to work from unique X piece placements.

It's my birthday season! I made Labor Day - Thanksgiving a special celebratory season for autumn bday folks like me.

Helps with scheduling to have ~90 days available for special dinner/drinks/coffee dates.

I am at least 50% hobbit so treats are on me.

I have a similar vibe for the Soma Cube. I love finding the beautiful structure hiding in them.
