After 5 hours of train ❤️, here I am in Cologne, ready to tackle Gamescom 2025 💪
And look what a beautiful church I can look at from my hotel's room window 👀

See you soon everyone 😉

Right now only some actions made by the units are shown, but I am working towards supporting everything 💪
What do you think, can you understand what happened by looking at the image?

Have a nice day =)

Then I began working on the new Battle Report popup, which should be used by the players to know more about the last fight and how each of their unit performed in it.
It took me a while, but with shamelessly duplicating the same smoke FX I was able to produce a decent animation 🙃

Found the time to improve my game a bit the last week, and so I started with the choosing of units.
Before it was pretty boring, with the cards simply disappearing, now they swing out of the way 💨, which I think is much more dynamic and engaging 😊

Quick update, as I expected the game is still "To be announced" 👀
Ofc, when I will upload a build I will have to keep in mind the release date has already passed 😎

When I started developing my game more than a year ago, I jokingly set the release date to 31-12-2024, and it is... today.
Time sure flies 😅
I honestly believed I would have been done in 6 months, but there is still much to do 😩

Hey, being home for the Christmas holidays, I found the time to continue working on my game "Raising Legion".

And now the player can manually destroy their unwanted units 💥
The currency spent can be gained from effects of units or finishing an encounter.

Marketing update:
A week and some has passed since I added more tags to my game, so let's check the results.
The avg amount of visits didn't change, while the % of impressions coming from the Tag Page increased, at the cost of the Click-thru Rate.

After a big refactor of your game, it is great to see all the automatic tests passing 🤩
Unfortunately, not all the game is covered by them, and therefore manual testing is mandatory 😅

P.S. My tests are coded using the plugin GdUnit4 by Mike Schulze, a wonderful tool 👍

Marketing update:
A week has passed since I added a basic trailer to my game Steam page, so (I think) we can draw conclusions on its impact.
Despite a promising start, the gain has been low. We moved from an avg of 22 visits x day to 26 (+20%).

Marketing update:
Yesterday I added a simple gameplay trailer to my upcoming game on Steam.
It's too soon to reach conclusions, but the big jump in visits certainly looks promising 🤞

Did I succeed?
I think so, because as you can see the quality of the animations are roughly the same while keeping the duration in check.

The solution I found was simple... delete frames 👀
I took upon myself to keep the attack animations under 6 frames, hoping that the player's eye will fill the gaps.
And also remove any idle frame at the beginning.

These are 3 examples of attack animations.
I will reveal the 2nd column later, but for now, pay attention to their amount of frames.
In my game all units attack simultaneously, and that means the player will have to wait for ALL of them before inputting another action.

Unfortunately, not yet 😅
But I am working on it, in the meantime you can wishlist it and watch this short video of the gameplay.
Thank you for taking interest 👍

Hi Bluesky 👋
A little intro on myself.

I'm Matteo, a game developer
Currently employed at a mobile game company, but fighting against scope-creep and bugs as an indiedev in the spare time

I'm developing Raising Legion, a one-click rogue-like autobattler (you can find it on Steam)

See you around 😉
