Big win for Durham—big loss for Aberdeen

It should be open access. It doesn’t appear to be yet, but if anyone is curious to give it a read and can’t get hold of it, get in touch and I’ll send it through.

Publication day!

My article, “Introductory Matters: Tracing the Aims of Proverbs 1:1–7 through the Book’s First Collection,” published in SJT, is now up under FirstView

doi.org/10.1017/S003...

The article is a minor rework of a paper I gave last year at the @abdndivinity.bsky.social PGR Symposium

Unfortunately it seems @bsky.app has exploded in popularity but without keeping up with the necessary security checks to make it a safe platform. It isn’t going to last if these sorts of things are just left unchecked like this

Really excited to share that my article, “Forgetting the Covenant of Her God: Ethnicity, Social Memory, and the Covenant in Proverbs 2:17,” is now available online — and it’s open access!

Pity Ryan O’Dowd’s commentary in the SGBC series didn’t get a mention

Proofs!

Coming soon (hopefully) to a Scottish Journal of Theology near you.

It isn't actually a paid survey. There was some miscommunication on that front. I went through the whole thing only to be told that that information wasn't supposed to be there and that I won't actually be getting paid. I see they've now updated the page to correct that.

The article is a thorough revision of the paper I gave at Trinity College Bristol in June last year at our PGR Conference. Since then a lot of rethinking, rewriting, more rethinking, and more rewriting has brought it to where it is now—almost a year and a half in the making.

Proofs are in for my forthcoming article in Biblical Interpretation, “Forgetting the Covenant of Her God: Ethnicity, Social Memory, and the Covenant in Proverbs 2:17.” I’m really happy with how this article turned out and really excited to see it out in the world.

Hi friends, as we are new to this platform, we need to rebuild our network from the other place. Could y'all help us out a bit? A little bit of crowd sourcing can go a long way! Do share our profile with those in your networks who you think might be interested the Divine work we do here in Aberdeen!

Schniedewind has a discussion of the place of the author in ancient texts and whether that was actually a real concern for the ancient readers of the OT literature. He suggests it really wasn’t, but I think many conservative Evangelicals would answer differently.

Thanks for taking the time to read it and respond! I’m glad to hear there were some things in there that were useful

Thanks! I’d be keen to hear your thoughts

I really wanted Threads to be the place. It’s got a really nice look and feel and this place seems oddly exclusive with the whole invite code thing. But it’s clear that it hasn’t worked out that way.
