Absolutely, hope Benicio gets all the awards. I was thinking that basically the film had plenty of great performances and two iconic ones: Lockjaw and Sensei. These two feel like they'll live on in history as symbols of fascism and anti-fascism respectively.

Exactly! I saw it on IMAX, so I really got to enjoy the finer points of the film's imagery. That final chase is the stuff of legends. We all need to be like Sensei Sergio in these times ("Ocean waves...").

One Battle After Another might be the single most politically relevant major US release in maybe decades. PTA must have magical powers to convince studio heads to give this funding and a major release. Mark Fisher would be in awe of this lad's capacity to navigate capitalist realism. Go watch it.

I've always felt it was pretty funny in the artist life how there are periods where you're just withering away while waiting for things to happen then sharply contrasted with periods where you're doing absolutely everything at the same time. When it rains it pours.
