Here's another vintage Smirnoff ad from 1977 advertising two ways to serve vodka at a dinner party: a vodka soda (possibly the most normal cocktail in existence) and vodka mixed with cold beef bouillon (a product of a generation raised on lead paint)

I like soup, I like alcohol, and yet I can't imagine anything more unappealing than the tagline "the vodka drink with BEEF in it"

I would simply do a peel-weight angled quadruple to sit three.

Seriously! If you'd told me in, like, 2005 that one day, both Japan and South Korea would have *twice as many* teams as Canada in the top 15 women's curling teams in the world, I'd be shocked. It'd be like saying "Canada may be good at hockey now, but in 20 years it'll be all Egypt"
The difference in the women's rankings is staggering

Canadian trial finals are set.

For the men it's Jacobs-Dunstone. I'm a certified Brad Jacobs Hater, go Dunstone.

For women it's Homan (easily #1 in the world) vs. Black (a distant #27). Honestly we should just... send Homan by acclaim. Crazy to think she could have one bad game and not go to Milan

Back in the day, the Canadian curling trials were more competitive than the actual Olympics themselves, because of how stacked Canada's bench was. Any one out of a half-dozen Canadian teams were more than capable of winning Olympics gold.

To say things have changed is an understatement

There's only one guy being weird in the woods of a golf course here and it's the paparazzi taking pictures of a man peeing

And bottle collectors will go around collecting all those bottles that people don't want to return, and schlep them to the Beer Store. SOMEONE is still recycling them. The bottles are still re-entering the supply chain.
