just to give an idea of the analytical weirdness of my channel, most of my videos from 2025 report ZERO PERCENT female viewers. zero. 20% of the views on the Steel Seed review come from Latvia. most videos also only report geography analytics from 3-4 countries.

like i have consultants helping me out of the kindness of their hearts (we worked together in the past) and even they have been like "we have no idea why your analytics are like this, we've never seen this before"

ultimately i may wind down the primary channel, idk. maybe shift to doing art/animation commissions or something. that's just where i'm at right now. maybe i'll feel differently after the weekend. i have to make ends meet

but i will be launching a second channel VERY SOON to house my old cartoons again, as I think I've said before. so the review videos and the cartoons are fully separate from each other

and before you say "do cartoons again!" it takes a month for me to put out 3 minutes of rigged animation at the quality of Deadly Space Action. it's fundamentally incompatible with youtube's algorithm

i feel kinda disspirited about the youtube channel. back in February i thought that i had finally gotten some sort of validation for the work I had put in (a 250k view video), but it's all kinda gone to shit since. i do feel like i did my best, but I think I may have to consider another pivot

it also WORKS as a discourse for each new generation too, because iD is always experimenting. 3 was very different from the first two, 2016 was a re-imagining, Eternal incorporated far more platforming, Dark Ages adopting larger maps and melee. The next could be a metroidvania for all we know.
