Is this the afterlife?
I’ve often been submerged in the middle when it comes to James Cameron’s #AVATAR series. I found myself invested in the third installment, a continuation careening into character soul-searching hand-in-hand with epic VFX with painterly sensibilities. Elongated but entertaining.
It’s really dark but I’m wearing a dark blue KN95 respirator for the #Avatar occasion. James Cameron just loves the blue. #AvatarFireAndAsh

I'm psyched to hear that my vocal teacher's short opera film, where I had a background role as a Diana's Prêtresse among the choir voices (we recorded in a basement with a harpsichord), will be released in 2026. Prepare for me to get annoying about this short film.

Nobody? Nobody has taken up on this yet.
Anyone interested in being my plus one for the AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH at 5:30ish in Manhattan tomorrow Monday?

Everyone is getting upset about the data centers. They pollute a lot and use a lot of energy and will eventually be very ugly/huge vacant buildings. And I understand being mad about that. Until you consider the state of the lazer tag industry at this moment, and how much help that sector needs.

I’m at #NotReadyForPrimeTime at MCC theater. So an unauthorized parody of Saturday Night Live? The program makes clear this is not affiliated with NBC or SNL.

A growing number of GOP-led states are restricting student voting access, from banning campus polling places to making it harder to prove residency. Earlier this year, Indiana banned student IDs for voting.
Indiana Republicans Are Banning Student IDs for Voting
The new restriction, paired with Indiana’s stringent voter ID rules, is poised to make it much harder for many young people to vote in a state that already ranks near-last in turnout.

Let me give some insight on this, as a producer in the dub industry who worked with major streamers, who's witnessed first-hand where this push for AI is coming from.

tl;dr: Only CEOs want this. Tell them how much you hate it. Be loud, email, call, @, post. You will kill this.

🧵⬇️
The only thing less human than these AI dub performances is the decision to sign off on them

A company this big can pay human actors a decent wage, not produce slop that intentionally removes the human element.

Oh no, this Facebook group question is provoking antisemitism (see “Kapo…” in the comments), anti-Palestinian, Islamophobic, transphobic (“token hire” in the comments) discussions that bemoan Zohran Mamdani and Abby Stein as “polarizing” and “terrorist.”

When an infidelity ruins the carbs-intake of an entire French town.
I’ve been seeing Stephen Schwartz musicals lately. This is my voter’s invite to #TheBakersWife (adapting a 1938 French movie) at CSC, starring the likes of Ariana DeBose, Scott Bakula, and Kevin Del Aguila. I got the PR email that Judy Kuhn will be out, with Wendi Bergamini understudying.

Assignment-wise, I needed to access films through a streamer platform.

So I went to journalist entertainment outlets I support, hunted for an ad/hyperlink to the streaming platform and purchased a Black Friday subscription through the ad/hyperlink click. Incremental way for me to support outlets.
