Pre-season win totals/over-under for the Clippers from 4 sources (Hollinger, ESPN, Draft Kings, MGM): 54, 50, 45.5, 48.5.

Projected wins at current rate: 20.

Yikes.

God made all of us, right? I guess God wanted some people to be non-traditional.

When my wife or I talk to one of our doctors about our low-carb diet (for over a decade), they tell us: "It's hard. Not everyone can do it." That's a self-fulfilling prophecy. We didn't and don't find it hard.

They should instead look at the programs (Virta comes to mind) that prove it can work.

He looks Bohemian with those head feathers. Here in Oakland, California we had a visit from a flock of Cedar Waxwings yesterday; they come for the ripe Hachiya persimmons. In the spring, they visit for the apple blossoms. I think of them as a gang of waxwings.

This didn't work for me. Red button took me to subscription page, choosing a free prescription hasn't let me view a free article. I understand your need for paid subscribes – some of us are just maxed out already. I'd love to read the article.

The First Law of Unintended Consequences: There WILL be unintended consequences.

Second Law should probably be: You won't like some of these unintended consequences.

What a gorgeous little bird. I confess to having a real soft spot for little fellows like this.

Sometimes you get lucky. Thank heavens with digital film is cheap. I do a lot of post-shot deleting.

Great photo. Here's a Northern Harrier in flight at Arcata Marsh and Sanctuary in Arcata, CA, captured just yesterday. Arcata Marsh is fabulous.

65% of eligible voters voted. Trump didn't even receive a majority of eligible voters. More like 33%. Facts matter. Trump doesn't think so, but we should.

These guys gather in huge flocks, often roosting on one tree. It's fabulous when they all break into flight.

We also have a fair number of Brewer's Blackbirds.

Do you have a specific kind of blackbird in the UK? Here in California the most common one is the Red-winged Blackbird.

And here's an American Kestrel at Lindsay Wildlife Experience in Walnut Creek, California. They rehabilitate injured birds and have a number of "Wildlife Ambassadors" that they would not survive in the wild.

I love comparing species across continents. Your goldfinches are more colorful than ours but the American Kestrel is one of my favorite birds. Here's one at Merced National Wildlife Refuge in Merced, California.

Apparently we're all being paid. Where do I go to get my money? Will they be handing it out at the rally?

Reminiscent of the Chestnut-backed Chickadee found here in Oakland, California.
