Do you have recommendations for another great Robin Hood adaptation?

I'm old enough for this guy (Disney's Fox) to have been an early screen crush, so I'm always a sucker for Robin Hood and other charming rogues!

As with any good books, the best things are the things you learn, whether glimpses of the past or glimmers of ourselves.

Stephen R Lawhead's King Raven trilogy taught me a bit of both!

Overall, the Welsh recasting is an interesting twist, and it feels truer and more historical than many other versions of Hood's story, despite the shift from the standard setting.

The third volume (Tuck) concludes Rhi Bran's tale mostly from the view of poor Friar Tuck. It has all the high drama of an epic ode as the story draws to its end.

The 2nd book (Scarlet) is mostly from the pov of Will Scarlet, an English forester driven from his land by the Normans. Scarlet travels to Wales following the trail of King Raven. His different voice provides a fresh outsider's take on Bran's band of archers, while still feeling authentic.

The 1st book (Hood) starts with a Norman (Ffreinc) takeover of bratty Prince Bran's kingdom of Elfael. The story's path isn't unexpected. The main selling points are the realistic medieval politics and religion that hinder reclaiming his throne. It's fun to watch him grow into Rhi Bran ap Hud.

An unlikeable protagonist is great, as long as they're compelling. (Ex. Jorg in Mark Lawrence's Prince of Thorns)

What a MC must not be is _annoying_ which is tricky, because different things annoy people at different times.

Also, likeable doesn't mean perfect, because that can be annoying too!

And I'll be checking back later to see who else you've added!

I think it's mostly people reacting preemptively to Zuck's new anti-factcheck policy. 🤷‍♀️

Nothing bad has happened...yet. But it's likely just a matter of time if they fire all the fact checkers.
