The US is already quite open about looking to undermine the values and institutions of Europe. There is zero sense in pretending that if we just act quiet they will get bored and move on. It’s going to require punching back, maybe not so publicly but doing it hard and often until they are no more.

Minimise the harm MAGA is able to inflict on them and maximise the amount of harm they are able to inflict on MAGA. Getting them out of power in the US is as big as any other security issue facing Europe right now. They just can’t say that openly but the hurt need not be a one way street.

Unfortunately, in US journalism it is considered neutral to spread a lie, but it is considered "biased" to call out a lie. So, there is a structural asymmetry that rewards colorful lies with virality.
