And this is a favorite - him laying on the ground talking to someone who just had a car accident (not a training, the real thing), just being his gentle self and helping them calm down. (That’s my badass stepmom on the scene with him, too)

I went to the Trumansburg Volunteer Fire Department banquet tonight to see my dad get honored for 50 years of service as a volunteer firefighter (and my stepmom get honored for 40 years of service!!)

Genuine coincidence: @ahsheek.bsky.social and I are both headed to different DSA chapter conventions this weekend, and somehow between transfers and starts, we both ended up on the same damn Amtrak train!! We’ll see you soon, comrades! 🎉🌹✊

Super fun to drop in and do a virtual visit with our Northern Nevada @demsocialists.bsky.social tonight! It's a chapter I've never "met" so it was really nice to make a bunch of new-to-me acquaintances and to see comrades organizing in yet another little corner of the world that really needs it.

I turned my attic into my office in the spring so this is my first winter up here. It's not ducted and it's cooooold, so I decided to splurge on the tackiest thing I've ever owned, a fake fireplace/space heater, I'm madly in love.

Sometimes your Lyft driver is a fellow middle aged hippie mom and at the end of your ride, you need to exchange rocks. She gave me an Oklahoma rose rock, I left her with a tiny crinoid fossil in a piece of Cayuga Lake shale. I told you it was normal to carry a few rocks in my purse.

SUCH a blast hanging out with the comrades of @okcdsa.bsky.social last night -- classic DSA social, we shut the place down and then shivered on the sidewalk to talk org strategy for another hour. I couldn't feel my toes but I am so hype to keep building this world we want to live in!
