Why is sex-as-punishment or sex-as-suffering elevated as art, but as soon as you see characters having sex for the pure pleasure of it, it's immediately dismissed? Why do we have so many graphic depictions of sexual assault and sexual trauma and so very few of sexual fulfillment? Rly makes u think

I’m quite high so might be incomprehensible. I’m trying to say that if a country’s whole deal is “immigrant melting pot” and you culturally celebrate that for most of a person’s life, suddenly saying “oust these immigrants to get back to our true heritage” is going to sound nuts to a lot of people

I understand this is all about racism and white supremacy, so logic isn’t the main thing here. True believers will true believe. But the murky middle, the lifelong Republicans who have been reluctant to let go, at some point that cognitive dissonance has to overwhelm.
