This wedge tornado I photographed by Essex, IA on 4/17/25 was 1.8 mi wide at it's max & rated EF-1 by the NWS. Thankfully there were no injuries. I am in shock I was there to document this historic event!

The weather & climate enterprise provides essential services that the public relies upon. We do not yet know the depth of the changes we face, but all have a voice, and we are stronger together than apart.

One of my favorite lightning shots! The entire sky was glowing orange, brighter than I've ever seen. I did not enhance the color in this photo at all! In fact, I brought down the vibrancy a bit.

This wedge tornado was a powerful EF-4! The associated horizontal vortex is a sign of it's strength, and rare to see. Luckily this tornado stayed in the fields and lifted before the storm moved over the town of Salina, KS. 4/14/12

A beautiful Supercell at the end of it's life cycle! Reminds me how everything in life is so dynamic and changing at all times. It's important to appreciate the gift of the present moment.

The moon and Venus conjuction tonight! Snapshot on my Galaxy S24 Ultra. I didn't even realize this was happening until I went to Target for a few things. Glad I saw it. It was striking!

On the eve of a New Year, this old song popped in my head..."Give me one moment in time, when I'm more than I thought I could be." (-Whitney Houston)

We are ALL stronger than we realize. Cheers!

Many Thanks to Jennifer Brindley Portrait for helping me see the strength within!

Thank you! It was actually pretty amazing, as we were safely behind the tornado and it was moving very slowly.
