considering Some Of The News Today, i wanted to mock up my own take on a front-end for retro games and keep it as simple as possible.

probably something like it exists but eh i wanted to design something today lol
A mock-up of an emulation front-end, with the two primary colours being a dark, de-saturated blue and a bright beige. The left half of the screen uses the dark blue as a backdrop, with prominent elements being displayed in the beige colour, namely the system title (Nintendo 64), available games (26 in this mockup, although not all are shown), and a list of games. In particular, Cruis'n USA is highlighted, and marked as a favourite (with a star), and is also currently selected. The right half of the screen shows selection information, in this case the year of release, the company who produced the game (no publisher info as of right now), a selection of tags (in this case, N64, 1-2 Players, Port, Racing were selected), and a placeholder description. See the first image. The only difference is the colours being pure black and white instead. See the first image. The only difference here is the colours being a light blue and a dark purple instead.

some favourites from a recent shoot that i've edited/graded

There are a lot of lights behind the boat on the other end of the river, but they are not the focus.

i started this a few months ago (right after the deltarune hype i think, early july) and nicknamed it "amaranth castle", but i don't think i will finish it. i still think it's cool that sgm and other free/stock stuff have so much versatility (when used right)

A partial screenshot of the TCRF page for The Legend of Zelda (NES), it highlights how bold text is rendered with a different font (in this case Algerian rather than Arial) resulting in very weird looking text. It might be funny but it also is annoying at the same time. The browser also uses a dark theme plugin to recolour pages so that it's white text on black backdrops (chalk on blackboard) rathern than the opposite.

Carts in question if anyone is curious, really. I got refunded for them so I didn’t end up paying anything but I’d like and see if I can actually get these to work properly, but I’m assuming that might not be a possibility at this rate…

A video listing (not public yet, of course) - there's a Mega Man thumbnail - dark blue backdrop, grid on the bottom, has a Mega Man logo in the modern Rockman Japanese style, with the letters SPC appended at the end, and "STYLE" just below it, all in fancy shining text. Just above the logo are 5 normal coloured Mega Man sprites from Mega Man 7 - sliding, standing, jumping, shooting and lastly, damaged. Okay, that was the thumbnail, the video title just says "Mega Man Style - Stage 9 (Original)". A listing of a couple of videos scheduled on YouTube - 5 in total, covering different songs that I've yet to release on the platform. Only one of those has a custom thumbnail as I need to create thumbnails for the rest.

Right, so this is a picture of a Yamaha DX7s. Yep. I know it says Ensoniq SQ80 "Digital programmable waveform synthesizer" on the actual picture, but stick with me for a bit, mkay? So I have been a bit devious. Malicious, even. Delightfully devilish, Seymour. And decided that I'd recreate the sort of logo style the DX7s (and later Yamaha synths of the 80s) had, but with the Ensoniq SQ80 text on it instead. All vectors, baby! This sucked to do. Genuinely.

a Yamaha YM1226 soundchip - it is a 24-pin DIP package with 12 pins on either side, dark gray, rectangular, with a glossy hole on the bottom left and a less deep but larger hole that's of the same matt material as the rest of the package on the right. the text says "YAMAHA Japan / YM1226 / 9034 IBAB". In other words, it's an edit of the YM2612 screenshot that's like the first result on Google Images to say YM1226 because something something American date formats are nonsensical. Yeag.

I don’t use Spotify but I do use YouTube music instead and it has the same recap stuff.

Frankly not surprised that 33 got the top spot as it’s an incredible album start to finish.
Youtube music 2024 recap image. It describes my tastes as a “superhero” character which frankly I don’t know what it means, it has a yellow shield graphic with a red star with blue outer rings, and with a variety of colourful CDs below it all in some action-y upwards motion. It then goes to the Top Artists section, comprising of T-SQUARE, FearofDark, CASIOPEA, Garrett Williamson and Magnùs Pàlsson, and then the top tracks, all from T-SQUARE’s album “33”, namely Iberian Seascape, Flying Colors, Again And Again, Rondo and Freeze Flame. Finally it sums up my total listening time to 1690 minutes. This image details the top albums as a whole. They are 33 (T-Square), Welcome to the rose garden (T-Square), Motorway (FearofDark), Exit Plan (FearofDark), and Stars and the Moon (T-Square)

Here we see a cropped screenshot of an upcoming release named "Within end's reach" - currently in review by the distribution team. The cover art is in black & white, depicting a white hand against a black background, reaching out into a white area. A few of the fingers manage to reach this white area, where they become inverted to be black instead. it's a photoshopped picture of a beige furred cat wearing a pair of headphones (not over the ears, as his ass is NOT listening), meowing rather proudly into a blue yeti microphone (which, mind you, is incorrectly set up - it should be reversed so that the cat's majestic noise can be picked up, rather than it going to the dead end of the polar pattern the microphone might be configured for. idk. it's a blue yeti. i think it does several patterns?). anyway his ass is NOT listening and is NOT using the microphone correctly thats what matters!!!
