This feels like the Aleutian Islands campaign by Imperial Japan. Go take over an insignificant area and gain nothing from it while the actually important battle is fought at the same time elsewhere, and that one ends in catostrophic defeat.

I need the Reds to win the last 2 games of the season, for 2 reasons.
1. If both they and the Phillies win out, the Phillies are the 1 seed.
2. If the Reds, win out, the Mets are guaranteed to miss the postseason.
I would really like both of these things.
