But you have to grind every time you die or load a save

We're a Scarios family, with the odd can of U.F.O.'s, thank you very much!

It never feels good taking this cute little guy out...

Really beautiful work! If you ever want to play around with getting this onto real hardware, let me know! It could be a fun little weekend project.

Wow, it worked! Thank you so much for the suggestion! It took just one line of code and made a big improvement.

No, it's inspired by SMB1 and 3 mostly.
November 14, 2025 at 4:06 PM
Hmm, no, that might actually work. I'll see what I can do.

Thank you!

Ah, thanks for clarifying, and thank you for the complements. In my case, I took the easy way out. At the start of my update loop, I check if the game is paused, and just exit right away :)

That's why all the characters vanish when paused; none of their logic (including drawing) is being run.

Are you saying the ability to pause the game at all seems weird to you?

To avoid exploits, the save file is deleted when you load it, but my intent is to completely eliminate the need to "leave your NES on overnight"!

If this game sounds cool, please give it a WISHLIST on STEAM (even if you plan to buy physical)!

A little of both. It's hard for me to draw the sprites without running their movement logic as well.

But it also helps give a clear state change.

I don't quite understand. Which part is weird?
November 13, 2025 at 3:48 PM
It's not the prettiest thing, but I think it will do!
November 13, 2025 at 4:42 AM
Oh yah, I misread that haha
November 11, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Oh really? That's awesome. I actually didn't even notice the attract mode. Is it in the Demo?

Looking forward to my perfect review score 😁
