With over $1.6 billion invested in affordable housing over the past six years, residents now have access to quality apartments, so families can stay in the neighborhoods they love. Affordable housing is a priority in Detroit.

Detroit families are keeping their homes and building a stronger future together.

Through the Detroit Land Bank's Buy Back Program, residents who’ve had a documented connection to their homes, whether as a previous owner, renter, or family member, are getting their titles restored.

The Joe Louis Greenway has 6 miles open, 6 miles under construction, and will soon become almost 30-mile loop linking neighborhoods across Detroit.

What used to be a desolate, flooded school is now a renewed anchor in the neighborhood. The historic Higginbotham School will be transformed into affordable housing and new apartments, and the team made sure the community was at the center of every decision.

The Joe Louis Greenway already has 6 miles open, another 6 miles under construction, and is on its way to becoming a powerful nearly 30 miles loop uniting neighborhoods all across Detroit. Clearing blight and transforming into a vibrant pathway of connection and renewal. 🌿✨

What may have seemed a forgotten space with a closed rec center has now been completely transformed into the newly renovated AB Ford Park on the east side in District 4.

Building a Beautiful Detroit, Block by Block!

Since its launch in 2021, the Neighborhood Beautification Program has provided grants to block clubs, neighborhood associations, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations across the city to create community gardens, improve public spaces.

Carjackings have dropped 88% dramatically since 2013 when it was 15 Carjackings a week. Now in 2025 with the help of DPD, Green Light Program, Real Time Crime Center and Partnering Agencies. Detroit now sees less than 2 carjackings a week.
