Meanwhile, new plasterboarding going up today. Tomorrow, losing electricity while new wiring is tested, and new kitchen units arriving, as well as floor tiles. Lots of floor tiles. On a pallet.
Where the hell can we store a pallet of tiles?

Another day, another seven book marketing "experts" and clubs claiming to love my book. All clearly AI generated marketing pieces, all straight to spam and delete. The number of fraudsters and scammers with my email is irritating as hell!

No - all good and very green. Dartmoor's too wet to catch fire!

Thank God I got out while they did it. On returning, there was a lot of noise from a damn great diesel generator, as well as the racket from all the fire and smoke alarms going off in the house! Luckily I enjoyed a walk around Meldon first!

Think I'll have to - but later, when the sparks arrived. I suspect I'll have no power for the afternoon. Morning and evening work only today.

Meanwhile, the edit's going well, with 100 pages to go, and three key aspects to address. Hopefully to finish that this week, and then speed read Saturday/Sunday to make sure all is good.

Builders back again, taping up every doorway before bringing in the sandblaster to clean the granite. I have a feeling that this morning may be a little noisy again.

A long day of edits, but no builders, so lots achieved! New scenes, scenes cut, rewrites mean all is going well!

Whilst most nations debate if they can afford adaptation or if they need to mitigate climate change, the island nation Tuvalu has negotiated a plan to relocate their entire country to Australia in the coming years! I wonder how many nations will eventually have to follow suit. 🇹🇻

Western politicians love the excuse “Why should we invest in renewables when China isn’t doing anything?”

In the 70s, Exxon’s own research confirmed climate change was real. Instead of warning the world, Exxon spent decades killing regulations and funding climate denial.

Unbelievable that in a free society banning books can be even contemplated, let alone promoted by schools and administrations. Anyone promoting such crass stupidity should lose their job in the name of freedom of speech.

A new report on book bans in U.S. schools finds Stephen King as the author most likely to be censored and the country divided between states actively restricting works and those attempting to limit or eliminate bans.
Stephen King is the most banned author in U.S. schools, PEN report finds
The number of banned books is down from more than 10,000 in 2023-24 but still far above the levels of a few years ago, the group found.

Ah, I have no idea what you guys do! Over here most houses are gas fired, but we don't have a line in our little village, so it's solid fuel or kerosene only!

Suddenly the heating pipes are covered over. In five days we've gone from a kitchen with a void under half the floor, to a new floor. Now to wait for it to dry.
Underfloor heating system All the floor screeded ready for the new kitchen to arrive! This is what it was like!

Just recording a Patreon video and my son walked in, agitated.

Have you ever dished up supper, only to discover a large grasshopper on your food? Friendly little fellow, admittedly, but not one my son expected to find! Besides, isn't it a bit late for grasshoppers?
