The Windsor Hotel, Old Kent Rd. One of the 2 pubs left on the road, down from 37 in the 70s. Grand old building with a big garden out the front. A New Cross mate swears it was used in Nil By Mouth.

Skehans, Nunhead. Famous enough now. Remains the quintessential Limebike and Split the G pub. Oh yeah, they still have a £10 limit on cards which in this day and age is cheeky as fuck.

The Waverley Arms, Nunhead. Beautiful pub in an area of some very beautiful pubs (Skehans and The Ivy House). Sambrooks Wandle on cask and Murphy’s for stout, plus lagers of all hues. Lovely boozer.

The Tankard, near the Imperial War Museum. Was a brewdog until recently reopening with new owners. The pub is massive and the roof terrace is great in the summer. I also noted that they do free gravy and Yorkshire pudding refills if you have a Sunday roast there.

Some sights on an accidental walk around Stockwell and Battersea; a bus garage, two beautiful dead pubs and a Wandsworth council sign for The Who (not the WHO as my autocorrect keeps trying to make it, bless’em but I don’t think the UN agency are interested in maximum R&B. ‘Sploding drums? Maybe).
