The EU urgently needs to invest in developing a new generation of batteries that can be produced within Europe.

Well, if you stop developing and producing ICE engines in Europe, how are you going to power your tanks, APCs, and ships?
I’m not against electric propulsion, but there are hardly any military applications for electric engines on the battlefield today.
