And here’s the M31 image straight from the Dwarf3. About 40 minutes of 15s exposures, straight from the Dwarf3

Sh2-173, or the Phantom of the Opera Nebula, imaged with @astronomyedinburgh.bsky.social remote 12" Murrell Newtonian 🔭 at #Trevinca in Spain. RGB stars with Ha for the nebula. #astrophotography

#Aurora from South Edinburgh just now. Looking west, barely visible to the naked eye because of the LED streetlights here. 10s hand held photo with phone. #astronomy

Felix Astronomicus - also known as Finn - wondering what the problem was.
October 12, 2025 at 8:51 AM
Woken early by Felix Astronomicus and saw the sky was clear, so got a quick shot of the Moon. CFF135 🔭, #TeleVue 2.5x powermate, #Touptek 585 mono. Pleased that I got most of Hadley Rille. Best 100 frames from 1000 frame video. #astrophotography

Large prominence on NW limb of the Sun captured at 15:20 today (11 October) with Coronado SolarMax 🔭 and #TeleVue 2.5x Powermate. #Touptek 585 mono camera. Stacked in AstroSurface, then processed and coloured in PixInsight. #heliophysics #astrophotography

NGC7293 (Helix Nebula) imaged in HSO earlier this month with @astronomyedinburgh.bsky.social remote Murrell 12" Newtonian 🔭 at #Trevinca in Spain. 71 x 300s Ha, 96 x 300s Oiii, 171 x 300s Sii. Processed in PixInsight. #astrophotography

My previous M33 combined colour RGB data from last year with L data from my new Touptek because I had not got good flats for the G and B channels. I fixed that this evening and processed 85 x 60s L, 20 x 60s G, B, and 19 x 60s R to get this image. CFF135 🔭, #Touptek ATR2600M. #astrophotography

I've now combined 85 x 60s L images from the #Touptek ATR2600 with 135 x 30s RGB from a QHY286C and some Ha using a dual narrowband filter. All taken with the CFF135 🔭 Camera orientations were different so I've had to crop. Processed in PixInsight. #astrophotography

Trying out my new #Touptek ATR2600M mono camera on M33. This is the first 24 luminance images. I'll probably combine with some RGB data from last year once the sequence is finished. Scope #CFF135 🔭 on #TTS160 Panther mount. #astrophotography

About 1 hour on M31 with a #Dwarf3 smart scope in equatorial mode. (257 exposures at 15s, gain 60.) Processed in PixInsight. #astrophotography 🔭

Set up CFF135 🔭 hoping to try new #Touptek ATR2600MM. But loads of clouds, so quick shot of Moon with #Touptek ATR585MM and #TeleVue 2x Barlow. Best 100 frames from 1000 frame video, stacked and sharpened in Astrosurface. #astrophotography

Solar prominence on SE limb, taken today (8 Sept) in gaps between light rain. Coronado SolarMax III 🔭 with #Touptek ATR585M camera and #Televue 2.5x Powermate. Stacked and sharpened in #Astrosurface, and coloured and inverted in #PixInsight with Solar Toolbox. #astrophotography #heliophysics

Solar disk imaged 29 August at 11:54 from Edinburgh. Image taken in hydrogen-alpha using a Coronado SolarMax 🔭. There's lots of activity - sunspot groups (also visible in white light), filaments, and prominences. Best 25% frames from 2500 frame video. #astrophotography, #heliophysics

Combined 45 minutes L data from a #CFF135 🔭 with about 1 hour RGB data from a #TeleVue NP101 🔭 Longer term, I hope to run both scopes simultaneously to maximise data gathering in Scotland's usually unfavourable weather. Processed in PixInsight. #astrophotography

Sun imaged today from Edinburgh at 14:54 in H-alpha with Coronado SolarMax 🔭. Best 10% of frames from 2500 frame video stacked in Astrosurface, and post-processed with the Solar Toolbox in PixInsight. #astrophotography #heliophysics

I came across some M33 data from September 2024 and reprocessed it using techniques that I've learnt over the last year. 67 minutes total exposure taken with CFF135 refractor 🔭 and QHY286C camera at -10C. This is RGB only - no Ha added. #astrophotography

Solar disk from Edinburgh at 10:28 today using SolarMax #solar 🔭 and #Touptek 585M camera. Attempts at solar photography yesterday and the day before were frustrated by clouds - as soon as I had the scope set up and focused, clouds covered the disk! #astrophotography #heliophysics

We imaged NGC 7331 in 2024 with our @astronomyedinburgh.bsky.social remote 12" Murrell Newtonian 🔭 at #Trevinca in Spain. Last night we took some further images to catch current SN Ia 2025rbx, clearly visible at 2 o'clock from the galaxy centre in the right hand image. #astrophotography

Last quarter moon imaged from Edinburgh at 8:10 today with #Televue NP101 🔭 using IR Pass filter and #Touptek 585 mono camera. Best 100 frames from 1000 frame video stacked and sharpened using AstroSurface, and levels adjusted in PixInsight. #astrophotography
