A strict observance of the written laws is doubtless one of the highest virtues of a good citizen.
This IS a little different I’d argue. Qanon/Epstein was how they really mainlined Trump into the GOP bloodstream. It’s easy to forget how many people on the right had doubts in 2017. I don’t think this moves most people, but I think some people go WTF.

Now, I’m not some young guy, I got married late in the game, but even then, one of my wife’s criteria for a guy was that he didn’t play video games 24-7. And that’s for the plus 40 crowd! I can only imagine when women who are 25 are dealing with.

As someone who thinks the political situation was better then, but the material situation is better now… wages don’t come close to telling the whole story. The thing you’re typing on has made your life 1000 times easier. And it’s affordable for all of us. And that’s just *1* example.

I can’t roll my eyes hard enough at the autism argument. The only difference between now and then is we diagnose it.

I suspect this is why end of the world prophesying is such a lucrative business throughout history.

I remember the white bag of potato chips. “Potato Chips” in black lettering on the bag.

From an overall quality of life standpoint I agree with you. From a governance standpoint I wholly disagree. Give me Reagan or Clinton any day.

This is also one thing that unites a moderate voter like me, with people across the left wing spectrum. For someone like me, I took extreme offense at the Republican refusal to negotiate. For the Dems to walk away without forcing them to negotiate and get something in return is an almost equal sin.

Those who point out bullying behaviors are considered troublemakers by the tribe. Look at the experiences of whistleblowers like Sherron Watkins with Enron. Those experiences are internalized, & as such people excuse away bullying as “personality differences” or even attack those pointing it out. 2/
November 10, 2025 at 7:37 PM
My thought as to how that fits in is this: there’s a social dynamic where people don’t want to be seen as troublemakers in their tribe, so they get along to go along. And if that means I have to say green is blue to get accepted by the tribe, then so be it. 1/

Yes. They are bullies, bully adjacent, or people don’t have an issue with bully behavior. They explain the behavior away with some form of “that’s just how they are.” It’s how we end up with workplaces with things like chronic sexual harassment, etc.
November 10, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Bingo. You gotta force them to negotiate and compromise otherwise they’ll spend the next however many years walking all over you.
November 10, 2025 at 12:02 AM
Force. Them. To. Negotiate. The idea that they are just going to throw in the towel without any sort of deal on subsidy funding is political insanity.
November 10, 2025 at 12:00 AM
No idea why they would want to cave without getting the subsidies. Force them to negotiate.

Privilege=you saying something I don’t like.

There, I fixed it for them.

What a shame. The game is better with talents like Clase. Really think we need to take a look at the proliferation of sports gambling. Is it worth these sorts of headaches?

One of the other problems with how we are throwing the fascist term around is, I’m not sure it accurately depicts where everyone on the right is at. I think some of these people are monarchists. And a whole hell of a lot of them are actually theocrats.

Doubling down on the economy right now is some flex. Especially when most of us assume the AI crash isn’t a matter of if, but when.
November 9, 2025 at 6:20 PM
The biggest thing I share with you from my more conservative days, is a disdain of stuff like this. I don’t care about what people do in the privacy of their own home, but the amount of people who whine about economic circumstances when they are just unwilling to make hard choices is vexing.

Nalin: “if you don’t love this country get out!”

Also Nalin: let me tell you how awful and horrific my county is, in a manner that sounds like I’m narrating a North Korean propaganda film!
November 9, 2025 at 2:52 PM
With a North Korean propaganda film. As someone who is a heck of a lot more conservative than most of you guys, let me tell you, if the left is ever going to gain ground on the patriotism issue with the average voter it’s in spaces like this. 3/
