Is it just me or is it astonishing that there isn’t an iPad version of the Bluesky app?

One good thing about BlueSky (and X and Threads, tbh) is being able to offload one’s daily gripes. Maybe nobody else feels the same, but at least I’ve got it off my mind. I agree it would be better to take positive action, but there’s only so much I can do to change the world.

The UK government clearly wants to suppress all anti-Israel protest and pro-Palestine gatherings. They want to criminalise as “anti-Semitic” any legitimate criticism of Israel and the IDF. Enough is enough.

It’s not often I advocate revolution, but now the time is ripe. Our UK government (and opposition) is incompetent, cowardly, corrupt and lacking in any morals. They should all be kicked out.

Fascinating podcast about the exceedingly alarming “Project Esther”. It’s like poisonous icing on the already poisonous Project 2025. Friends in the USA: you must stop this slide into outright fascism. If you don’t want to be in “The Handmaid’s Tale” PROTEST!

The USA: a country of (mostly) immigrants, a land of plenty and some fantastic natural resources. A written constitution. But one of the most dysfunctional political systems in the world. A country I both want to love and (currently) love to despise. I hope the current regime does no lasting damage.

One of my “followers” is apparently following more than 264,000 people on BlueSky. Far be it from me to be a little skeptical, but how is that even possible? Unless they have access to some bot that spots new people on here and automatically “follows” them. But what’s the point?

One thing I did NOT expect on Bluesky is to get pro-IDF posts in my feed. I’m genuinely curious about how anyone can defend, never mind support the Israeli illegal murder of innocent Palestinians and the wilful destruction of Gaza.

One of the reasons I felt inclined to rejoin social media (but BlueSky rather than, ahem, X) was because I wanted to yell BEING CRITICAL OF ISRAEL IS NOT ANTI-SEMITIC! Lots of Jewish people hate what Netanyahu is doing. They can’t be anti-Semitic, by definition!

Anyone else think the keyboard in the iOS version of BlueSky is very peculiar? It seems to be completely different to all other iOS app keyboards. And why no iPad version of the app?

So, I joined BlueSky yesterday. Within 24 hours I have 14 followers, but I don’t know any of them. I’m curious - what’s so interesting about me that 14 complete strangers choose to follow me?
